Hansard Senior Editor (full-time)
The Legislative Assembly Service of Saskatchewan (LAS) provides the administration and support services required for the operation of the Legislative Assembly. Our mission is to foster a transparent, participatory democracy, with a team committed to supporting the institution of Parliament for the people of Saskatchewan.
The Parliamentary Publications branch of the LAS produces verbatim records and indexes of the debates which take place in the Legislative Assembly and its committees. The verbatim records are known as Hansard. They are published in English, as well as French when spoken. The branch is a deadline-driven environment as the verbatim is published quickly following a meeting’s adjournment.
The Senior Editor of Hansard conducts the final detailed review and edit of Hansard publications, provides editorial supervision and training, and provides analysis to the Hansard Manager about editing issues, standards, quality, tools, and training. This position resolves complex editorial issues and exercises judgment in the application of Hansard policies and procedures. The role also provides day-to-day editorial leadership by supervising, coaching, and evaluating employees.
